2414 – Principle Electrical Engineer
A highly respected engineering firm in the Mid-Willamette Valley is hiring a Principle Electrical Engineer. The Principle Electrical Engineer will be a key member of the engineering team. Working with other members of the team, the Principle Electrical Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design, development, and implementation of equipment integration of electrical, power, and control systems. The Principle Electrical Engineer will also take part in troubleshooting and maintaining all programmable and hardwired logic devices of industrial control equipment. As a Principle Electrical Engineer, the success full candidate will improve the manufacturing processes through the design, modification, configuration, and installation of electrical and process control and automation systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge and familiarity of safe work practices around electrical power equipment (Lock out tag out, NFPA 70E, etc)
- Work with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate equipment selection, purchasing, and installation.
- A strong understanding of processes to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability through technology innovation.
- Work with equipment suppliers to integrate into existing mill systems.
- Provide technical support on issues dealing with PLCs, AC/DC drives, and SCADA systems used for recipe management, data acquisition, and reporting.
- Design and develop machine control system architecture to meet production and customer demands.
- Design electrical power infrastructure to supply required power to equipment. To include low, medium and high voltage applications as required.
- Design and implement network systems to support distributed control and data collection.
- Design and implement safety systems as required by customer for emergency stops, interlocks and process control stops to integrate with equipment supplier systems.
- Develop system documentation including electrical drawings, network diagrams, system block diagrams, and technical and user references.
- Develop machine control software to support equipment installation, start up and commissioning.
- Practice continuous improvement and best practices by reviewing and updating drawings and other equipment controls documentation.
- Provide administration and development of computer operating system and application software.
- Communicate and present controls project scope, schedule and budget to management and other key project stakeholder.
JOB QUALIFICIATIONS:
- Requires a minimum fifteen (15) years of Electrical Engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- PE in electrical engineering in the State of Oregon or ability to obtain PE within six months.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Proficient in National Electric Code (NEC) and the Oregon Electric Specialty Code (OESC)
- Experience managing teams of engineers and designers on large capital projects.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Experience as site electrical permit owner and permitting experience with project AHJ’s.
- Experience with equipment specification, controls interface, and project management assignments.
- Experience with heavy industrial equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Experience with Delta V DCS, Allen Bradley PLC, and TCP/IP database design.
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience with AutoCAD, Blue Beam, and MS Project.
SALARY / BENEFITS:
